Mountain Frame

Some folks have referred to bicycle framebuilders as glorified machinists, which would bring a grin to Steve's face. A consummate machinist since the early 1970s, Steve prides himself on his thorough approach to building the ideal frame for each customer, starting with the best machinery, custom fixtures, and a thorough understanding of the materials used to craft mountain bike frames.

Steve Potts

As one of the early pioneers of the 29er movement in the mid 1990s, Steve understands the geometrical needs of a larger diameter wheel in direct relation to the conditions of the terrain and the abilities of the rider to get the most out of his or her machine. Not only does Steve have it dialed in relation to proper geometry, he has a firm grasp of the juxtaposition of how proper equipment choices determines an enjoyable offroad experience. One doesn't get inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame by just dreaming about how something should be; it's something that comes from years of experimentation and application, and what better testing grounds than Marin County?

Contact Steve to discuss your next cross terrain bike, as he likes to call them. You'll become a believer in titanium as the right material for the job, and you'll experience more fun on a 29er.
